Translogic Quickshifter information

You probably didn't know this but when you choose to use a Translogic quick shifter you are using a product developed by the biggest quickshifter manufacture in the world with probably more race success than all the competition put together. Translogic Systems Ltd not only manufactures products for our own Translogic brand but we also manufacture quickshifters for other quickshifter companies as well as supplying motorcycle OEM companies too. As you might expect all products supplied to OEM companies go through the most punishing accelerated environmental testing before being signed off as `genuine approved original equipment' so you can count on Translogic Systems Ltd to deliver.

We have collated some information regarding quick shifters that you might find useful and informative. A quickshifter is a device used to enable an `upshift' to be executed at full or constant throttle without the use of the clutch and is ideally suited to sequential type transmissions. A quickshifter system is made up of several key components, the quickshifter and the sensor. There may be some additional components such as a tie rod kit to enable you to install the GP sensor to the machine, a remote shiftlight and possibly a positional linear sensor for applications where a tie rod does not exist and the sensor needs to be attached directly to the gear lever itself.

Get on the motorcycle.
Start the engine in neutral.
Squeeze the clutch lever with your left hand all the way to the grip.
Place your left foot on the gear shifter and kick straight down to first gear.
Give a little throttle with your right hand. Don't race the engine.
Slowly release the clutch with your left hand while maintaining engine speed with your right hand on the throttle.
Balance the bike and move off slowly.
After you are moving and balanced, put your left toe under the gear shifter.
Squeeze the clutch and release tension on the throttle a little.
Smartly kick upward with your toe on the bottom of the gear shifter. You are now in second gear.
Release the clutch smoothly and simultaneously apply more throttle.
As you gain more speed, repeat the above steps for third, fourth, and fifth gears.
Downshifting is done similarly except you sharply kick down on the gear shifter to go to the next lower gear.
As you come to a stop, squeeze the clutch and kick down on the gear shifter, one gear at a time, timing it so you are in first gear as you stop.

Practice use of the clutch and throttle together so as not to stall the engine.
If you should stall the engine, make sure you have the front wheel straight ahead. Otherwise, you will fall.
Practice getting the gear shifter into neutral while stopped. Neutral is between first and second gear.

The GDU offers visual confirmation of gear selection within the transmission. This Ultra-Bright seven segment LED, (Light Emitting Diode). is among the brightest available. This display coupled with the precision Clarex™. smoked black window diffuser produces the highest contrast available for improved day light viewing and exceptional night time clarity. The sensor is the pinnacle of positional monitoring technology and is manufactured to high tolerance specifications allowing repeatability in production to within a measured tolerance of plus or minus 1%.

This Ignition interrupt (quickshifter) is probably the smallest, lightest and most technologically advanced system available. The Ezeshift is manufactured to the highest standard using high tolerance components and latest SMT, (Surface MountTechnology.) The Ezeshift negates the use of the clutch and throttle rolling while making upshifts and is designed to compliment virtually all variants of ignition systems.The Ezeshift System has the added benefit of offering visual confirmation of gear selection within the transmission utilising the GDU. Both the Ezeshift and the Ezeshift System use the same high specification sensor as the GDU.

The Powershift is the first tiptronic gear shift product of its type. This unique linear design allows fitment in confined areas as well as combining incredible power. The Powershift stands apart from its competitors by utilising DC motor and planetary gearbox technology which is then transferred into linear motion. The Powershift ven facilitates manual gear selection when fitted. Gears can be selected both up and down by the touch of a button.

The Powershift is available with a built in Ignition interrupt (quickshifter). This built in feature negates the use of the clutch and throttle rolling while making upshifts and like the Ezeshift is designed to compliment virtually all variants of ignition systems. Like the Ezeshift System the Powershift System also has the added benefit of offering visual
confirmation of gear selection within the transmission system utilising the GDU and sensor.
