The Quickshifter  

This component is the ECU or the `brains' of the operation.  Essentially the quickshifter is looking for a signal from the sensor to instruct the quickshifter to execute the interrupt which allows the next gear to be selected.  Other quickshifters simply `ground' either the fuel injector signal wire or the ignition coil signal wire or interrupt the positive supply to all the coils/injectors at once.  These wires have sensitive electronics attached to the ends of the wires at the bikes OEM ECU and therefore Translogic avoids this kind of interrupt as it can only be detrimental to the well being of the OEM ECU as well as flagging up gauge warning lights and fault codes within the OEM ECU.  Translogic quickshifters actually interrupt the signal travelling down these wires and then simulate a signal back to the OEM ECU so it never sees that the wire/signals have been interrupted so there won't be any fault codes recorded in the OEM ECU when you have you next engine service.
